Prepare for the worst and it might not happen.

Bad story.. be prepared to read or look away.
It is better to prepare for the worst than wait for the worst thing to happen. A very good example of this is if you have a long-term relationship with your partner and everything is going great. In your heart, you believe that your partner is the one for you and you will live with them forever. For one reason or another, something unexpected happens and you are on your own. Your partner has left you. You need to sell the house and part halfway.
You become emotionally ill and you can't bear to work for a long period. You need time off work. Your boss tells you to take time off. With the current financial pressures on you, you can't afford to take time off. You try your best to work a few more weeks, but the boss eventually fires you. You are in the worst situation imaginable.
The better story has begun...
A year before the unexpected happend you decide to take out sickness and health insurance and employment insurance because at the time you felt it was the right thing to do. A year later and the sad event occurs. You are fired from your job and you are an emotional wreck. The house is sold and you are on your own. The insurance company provides you with three months temporary financial assistance for your loss of job and a payment to help with your emotional stress.
You decide to take a cruise in the Mediterranian to figure out your new path in life. During the cruise, you meet an amazing person and you feel relieved and happier. After two months, you apply for a new job and are employed. You decide to settle down with this new partner of yours and the rest is history.
Which situation would you rather be in?
